Collegiate Championships Route (25 miles)

The USA Cycling Collegiate Road Cycling National Championships was held on this route and boasts challenging slopes and great views. Starting in downtown Marshall, riders begin this route heading south over the bridge on Bailey Branch Road. Riders then begin their ascend up winding country roads and along streams.

This ride is a workout. This route will take riders up and down until finally reaching the French Broad River where riders will begin their return back towards Marshall.

The roads have little traffic and are well kept. Their will be plenty of opportunities to stop and admire the country online this route. Mountain views, scenic farmlands as well as rivers and streams line this route and is why cyclists repeatedly come back to Marshall to enjoy this workout.


Observing the graph of the elevation gain you'll notice that half of the route is significantly more hilly than the second half. Be sure to take this into account when planning for this ride, you'll have to work hard for the first portion of the ride and will be able to relax on the second half.
