Little Ivy Creek

Little Ivy Creek is an easily accessible creek that great for experienced and novice fly-fishermen. Only a few minutes from the I-26, the creek runs several miles along Beech Glen Road near the town of Mars Hill. This creek is stocked, be sure to check on the NC stocking schedule on our fishing homepage to see when the next batch of fish will be delivered!

There are a few places to park and hop into Little Ivy Creek but the best place is at the Beech Glen Community Center which sits right at the creek. There is plenty of parking and very easy access into the water there.

Rainbows, Browns and Brookies can be caught here but come prepared with plenty of flies. Dryflies and nymphs will do well here. Be patient, and check out Little Ivy Creek!

For easy reference, see map to the left. The easiest way to get to this fishing spot is simply to access it from the Beech Glen Community Center.

You could also choose to continue south on Beech Glen Road and park off the side of the road where Whitt Branch Road meets Beech Glenn Road. At this location, Little Ivy Creek is crossed by a bridge and you can easily wade into the water here for some excellent fly-fishing.
