Little Ivy Loop (12 miles)

This Mars Hill cycling route is an excellent choice for cyclists who want a fairly flat and scenic ride through country roads. This low trafficked route snakes its way through farmlands, valleys and along streams.

The Mars Hill University Cycling team calls this route the "Recovery Route" because it's a great ride to do for a more relaxed workout.

Starting in downtown Mars Hill, riders follow north main street under the highway and find themselves in the beautiful winding countryside of Mars Hill. Riders will soon be passing historic barns nearly every mile in the crux of flowing valleys.

The ride finishes back in downtown Mars Hill where riders can refuel at some of local favorite restaurants.

This route can be enjoyed in the spring, summer and fall! It's perfect if you're in the mood to cruise through the FLAT countryside (which can be tough to find in the Appalachian Mountains).

The photo to the left is a cute, covered bridge on the route, it's a good spot to pull over and enjoy the Little Ivy Creek.

Stop by Papa Nick's after this ride to enjoy some great Italian food. Papa Nick's is great for lunch or dinner and makes the best pizza in Madison County.
